Our Backyard

With a federal election now just around the corner, and the possibility of a new government (as opposed to just the change of governments leader which we have just had), real estate markets often adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach around election time.

These days however, with the differences between the major parties less obvious than in days gone by, we are less likely to see too much nervousness from buyers. This certainly seems the case at present with very strong sales results in recent weeks from all our areas of operation from Torquay to Apollo Bay.

The Great Ocean Road Real Estate Philosophy

Make Real Estate a HAPPY Experience
For most, the idea of a happy Real Estate experience sounds a bit odd – the two ideas just don’t belong together unless, that is, you’ve experienced Great Ocean Road Real Estate first hand.

You see, Great Ocean Road Real Estate is doing practically everything differently – innovative and results-based products and services with extended office hours.
Even our offices are different. They are colourful, open and inviting. Not words you usually associate with a real estate office. In fact, you don’t feel like you are in a real estate office at all. It’s little wonder we have been the Great Ocean Roads leading agency for many years.

What’s the Point?
Great Ocean Road Real Estate has undertaken a large network expansion with 4 strategically positioned offices along the Great Ocean Road with plans to have further expansions, also networking the largest accommodation portal in coastal Victoria; http://www.greatoceanroadholidays.com.au/

Why?
The answer is simple. Great Ocean Road Real Estate believes it’s time to change; it’s time to challenge the markets on the West Coast of Victoria. It’s time to make real estate a HAPPY experience. Which starts at grassroots – with the internal culture, the training and the people.

As Directors, we acknowledge the most important element is sustaining growth in our people who are at the heart of everything we do. We see our people as a big investment because, without them, our happy real estate vision cannot become reality.

That’s all good but you can’t make people feel happy at work, or can you?
Great Ocean Road Real Estate employees enjoy a competitive salary, incentives, benefit packages and flexible hours. Then add to that a culture of “Happy People”.
Lauren Nicholls, Sales Admin, is living proof that the Great Ocean Road Real Estate happy real estate philosophy works. “I came to Great Ocean Road Real Estate because I was getting increasingly fed up with work. I had spent years at other agencies and I’d had enough. I wasn’t enjoying coming in every day. But it couldn’t be more different at Great Ocean Road Real Estate. It’s fun, I’m enjoying work again” Lauren said.
“Things were different from day one. For instance, my training was unlike anything I’ve experience before. It was incredibly comprehensive, but it was fun too. We got up to all sorts of things, like seminars, conferences and internal training, all around Australia”. But what about day-to-day life? Surely after a while the daily grind is the same? “Not at all” Lauren insists. “The new offices don’t just look different, they feel different. Less stressful and more enjoyable for us and our clients. I like being there. I mean, you don’t usually hear people laughing in a traditional old fashioned real estate office, do you? It’s not just about the offices though” Lauren continued. “It’s the whole cultural package. You always feel supported, our Directors and Managers regularly work with us, not to check up on us or anything, just to say hi and make sure we are ok. And that we’ve got everything we need. You feel like you can talk to them. Again, something I haven’t really experienced before. So yes, it’s fun. It’s a happy environment and it’s an incredibly exciting thing to be part of”. Making the whole Great Ocean Road Real Estate experience from employee to customer, a happy one.

For all your real estate needs, come and enjoy the experience that both our people and, most importantly, our valued clients feel!

Our Backyard

There has been strong interest in the market for the commencement of the financial year with strong sales right across the board. Our office has recorded some amazing results with 8 contracted sales and also 5 offer/acceptances being signed up. These sales have resulted from some vigorous marketing and presentation with buyers coming from a broad demographical area including strong interest from the Surf Coast. This reassures our commitment and brand dominance along the Great Ocean Road, best highlighted through our ‘Coastal Views’ property guide, now in full colour gloss in the Surf Coast Times, Bellarine Times and now including Ocean Grove. Combine this with our website Google optimisation which means our clients are assured that buyer web searches will always display our properties either Number 1 or certainly in the top 3.

Our Backyard

The whale watching season has officially started with several sightings reported along the Great Ocean Road, with some recently seen at Sunnymead Beach, Anglesea and just past the breakers at Fairhaven.

Every year, Southern right Whales make their way along the coast delighting locals and visitors alike.
Whilst we encourage safe and responsible driving at all times, keep an eye out over the coming months as these massive mammals slowly make their way along our shores.

Whale

See you on our coast.

Boost for Coast commuters

New railway station a boost for Coast commuters

RAIL connections from the Surf Coast to Melbourne have received a major boost announcing a new station for the region’s newest neighbour, Armstrong Creek.

The new station to sit on the existing railway line between Ghazeepore Road and the Surf Coast Highway. This connection will further enhance the benefits of the Ring Road by improving access to the Surf Coast.

The government is taking action to build the right infrastructure for growth to lock in a prosperous future for regional Victoria, one of the state’s key growth corridors.

The new station will provide enhanced access for residents to central Geelong and Melbourne and, as the most westerly station in Geelong, service the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast region.
